Analysis
Background
Sonoma LAFCO meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month in which the Commission has business to transact. The schedule of meetings for 2020, as proposed by staff, is attached for Commissioners’ information. No meeting is scheduled for January 1, 2020, due to the holiday.
When meetings of the Commission’s standing committees – the Budget Committee and the Policy Committee – are called, they are normally conducted during the hour prior to or the hour immediately after the Commission’s meeting.
The dates and times of standing committee meetings are indicated on the meeting schedule. It should be noted that the proposed meeting of the Budget Committee on March 4, 2020, is scheduled after the Commission meeting, to accommodate Committee members’ earlier commitments.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Commission consider the proposed meeting schedule for 2020 and, unless changes are desired, accept it as recommended.
Alternative to Recommendation
The Commission could determine to change one or more meeting dates.
