Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will conduct a public hearing at or after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in the Sonoma County Administration Building, 575 Administration Drive, Room 102A, Santa Rosa, California, at which time all interested persons may be heard on the following item:

Santa Rosa Reorganization 17-02 Including Annexation to Santa Rosa and Detachment from Roseland Fire Protection District, Rincon Valley Fire Protection District, County Service Area 40 (Fire Services) and County Service Area 41 (Multi-Services)  No 2017-02 County Service Area No. 40 (Fire Services), and County Service Area No. 41 (Multi-Services)

The application was initiated by resolution of the City of Santa Rosa City Council. The affected territory, consisting of all parcels within five islands of unincorporated territory known as Roseland, Brittain Lane, West Hearn, West Third, and Victoria Drive, totals approximately 700 acres (map of annexation territory). The affected territory is generally located in southwest Santa Rosa, west of U.S. Highway 101 and south of State Highway 12.

The reasons for the application are to achieve more effective and efficient provision of public services by including the five unincorporated islands within the City’s boundary, allow development for uses and at densities permitted by the City of Santa Rosa’s General Plan, and permit access to City services. Environmental Determination:  Environmental Impact Report prepared by the City of Santa Rosa.

At the hearing, the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will hear any relevant oral or written testimony and evidence presented or filed concerning the application. The Commission will consider the reports of the Executive Officer and plan for providing services and may approve, amend, or deny the proposal. The Commission will consider the Environmental Impact Report prepared by the City.

Copies of all documents relating to the application may be reviewed at the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission office. If you cannot attend the public hearing described in this notice, you may submit written comments on the application prior to the hearing. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE HEREBY INVITED TO BE PRESENT AND HEARD ON THE MATTERS DESCRIBED IN THIS NOTICE.

If you challenge the actions of the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission on the environmental impact report and the application in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission at, or prior to, the hearing.
