Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will conduct a public hearing at or after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in the Sonoma County Administration Building, 575 Administration Drive, Room 102A, Santa Rosa, California, at which time all interested persons may be heard on the following item: 

File No. 2019-04: Geyserville Fire Protection District Reorganization No. 18-19-0313-01 (Knights Valley-IRPs) Involving Annexation of the Knights Valley Volunteer Fire Company Service Area and Adjacent Integrated Response Plan Areas and Detachment of the Same Territory from County Service Area No. 40 (Fire Services)

The territory that is the subject of the proposal is generally located west of the County lines for Lake County and Napa County, north of Petrified Forest Road, east of Pine Flat Road, Briggs Ranch Road, and Chalk Hill Road and south of Pine Flat Road and Socrates Mine Road, in unincorporated Sonoma County.

The reason for the proposed reorganization is to provide improved fire and emergency services to the Knights Valley area and to officially include, within the Geyserville Fire Protection District (District), territory in County Service Area No. 40 (Fire Services ) (CSA 40) currently served by the District under contract with CSA 40. This territory is generally referred to as Integrated Response Plan Areas (IRPs).

Environmental Determination: Exemptions pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) and Section 15320 of the State California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines

At the hearing, LAFCO will hear any relevant oral or written testimony and evidence presented or filed regarding the proposed reorganization consisting of annexation of the Knights Valley Volunteer Fire Company service area and IRP areas of CSA 40 and detachment of the same territory from CSA 40.

Copies of all documents relating to the action may be reviewed at the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission office, 111 Santa Rosa Avenue, Suite 240, Santa Rosa, California, 95404, (707) 565-2577. Please direct comments, questions, and requests to review to the office. In order to be included with hearing materials, written comments must be received by May 28, 2019. Written comments received after that date will be provided to the Commission at the public hearing.

ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE HEREBY INVITED TO BE PRESENT AND HEARD ON THE MATTERS DESCRIBED IN THIS NOTICE.

If you challenge the action of the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission on the reorganization in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission at, or prior to, the hearing.
