Notice of Public Hearing

Location: Sonoma County Administration Building, 575 Administration Drive, Room 102A, Santa Rosa, California

Notice is hereby given that the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will hold a public hearing on the following:

File No. 2015-01: Rohnert Park Reorganization No. 2014-0001 (Northwest Specific Plan Area) Involving Annexation to the City of Rohnert Park and Detachment from Rincon Valley Fire Protection District and County Service Area No. 41 (Multi-Services)

The application was initiated by resolution of the City of Rohnert Park City Council. The affected territory, consisting of 35 parcels totaling approximately 94.7 acres, is generally located west of Dowdell Avenue, east of Langner Avenue, north of Business Park Drive and south of Millbrae Avenue in northwest Rohnert Park. The reason for the proposal is to allow development for uses and at densities permitted by the City of Rohnert Park’s General Plan and access to City services. Environmental Determination:  Environmental Impact Report.

At the hearing, the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will hear any relevant oral or written testimony and evidence presented or filed concerning the proposal. The Commission will consider the reports of the Executive Officer and plan for providing services and may approve, amend, or deny the proposal. The Commission will consider the Environmental Impact Report prepared by the City. Unless written opposition to the proposal is received from landowners or registered voters within the affected territory before the conclusion of the Commission proceedings on the proposal, the Commission may waive protest proceedings. If the Commission approves the proposal, there is potential for the extension or continuation of any previously authorized charge, fee, assessment, or tax by the City of Rohnert Park

Copies of all related documents are on file and may be reviewed at the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission office. If you cannot attend the public hearing described in this notice, you may submit written comments prior to the hearing. Please direct comments, questions, and requests to review documents to the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission, 575 Administration Drive, Room 104A, Santa Rosa, CA 95403.

All Interested persons are hereby invited to be present and heard on the matter described in this notice.

If you challenge the actions of the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission on the environmental determinations and the proposal in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission at, or prior to, the hearing.
