Notice is hereby given that the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will conduct a public hearing at which time all interested persons may be heard on the following item:
File No. 2018-04: Amendment No. 2 to the Sphere of Influence of the Geyserville Fire Protection District
on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at or after 2:00 p.m. in the Sonoma County Administration Building
The Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will consider a municipal service review and an amendment to the sphere of influence of the Geyserville Fire Protection District to include territory currently served by County Service Area No. 40 (Fire Services) staffed by the Knights Valley Volunteer Fire Company, generally located east of the existing Geyserville Fire Protection District boundary, north of Porter Creek Road and west of the Lake and Napa County lines.
The reason for the proposed sphere amendment is to allow for the future annexation of the Knights Valley area to the Geyserville Fire Protection District.
The Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission has prepared a municipal service review of the Geyserville Fire Protection District to analyze the potential amendment to the District’s sphere of influence and to provide a general evaluation of the District and a specific assessment of its capability to serve the Knights Valley area. The report is available for review and comment at www.sonomalafco.org.
The action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the State CEQA Guidelines.
At the hearing, the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission will hear any relevant oral or written testimony and evidence presented or filed regarding the proposed amendment to the District’s sphere of influence and municipal service review.
Copies of all documents relating to the application may be reviewed at the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission office, 575 Administration Drive, Room 104A, Santa Rosa, California, 95403, (707) 565-2577. Please direct comments, questions, and requests to review to the office. In order to be included with hearing materials, written comments must be received by March 23, 2018. Written comments received after that date will be provided to the Commission at the public hearing.
All Interested Persons are hereby invited to be present and heard on the matters describe in this notice.
If you challenge the actions of the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission on the sphere of influence amendment and/or municipal service review in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission at, or prior to, the hearing.
